Trail Blazers from the West in the Latvian Basketball League (Pt. 1)

By Reinis Lacis (@LamarMatic)

The adventures of France’s Mark Sanoner, San Jose State’s Mickey Jackson, Tulsa’s Ray Wingard and Ohio State’s Jamaal Brown in Latvia in between 1992 and 1994. Features a bit of BYU’s Kevin Nixon as well who had a great quote on Gundars Vetra, the first Latvian to play in the NBA.

Since this page works as a portfolio of mine, I figured this project is important enough to have a place here. Hopefully someone from my native country of Latvia finds it through here. If you see something that is of interest for you and don’t speak Latvian (perhaps, a player from your own university), feel free to approach me and I can translate you parts of the article.
